4320 John Deere Transmisson repair.
Просмотров 352 тыс.12 лет назад
I am working on the transmission of a 4320 John Deere at my shop. One of the synchronizer drumes busted and fell into the bottom of the transmission. I had to split the tractor and take the rockshaft housing off to get the top shaft that the drum is on out. If any one has any questions feel free to ask and maybe I can help you on you own projects.

This is video I took at the 2011 Half century of progress. Seeing this tractor in person was an awesome sight.
Cmon bro speed it up please!
Thank you for the time and effort that you put into these videos. We are rebuilding the touch control on our Super A and your videos were very helpful. God's blessings on you
How did you get that synchronizer out, i have the same issue, split like you have it, took the plate off and the race from the large end, have the shift bracket out, I can't pull that assembly back and up to get it out.
@@rnccen I would love to help you but it's been so long since I made this video I don't really remember a lot of the details. I do remember that whole job being a major pain. I think this was probably the last one of those transmissions i worked on..
Excellent video
I’ve been giving you advice on your kiln and I see you’ll be paying me back with your videos! I have an old 8N in a shed I’ve been meaning to fix up and get running. These videos will help a ton!
I am rebuilding the hydraulic box for a 52 Farmall Super C. Thanks for posting your video and sharing your information. Much appreciated! I have rebuilt farmall (A, B, H) engines, etc; but never a touch control box. You've made the job much easier to prepare, understand and execute. Thanks again!
Thank you Sir!
Did you make video on installing distributor on tractor yet ?
The back on mine is very hard to come off as well. There is a Allen screw in the back I was not sure if that was a problem. Thank you so for making these videos. I have a far mall Super A trying to bring back to life after about 20 years of resting in a shed.
Have been looking for part 3
Thanks learned something helpful . I have a ? what kind of oil do you need to put in the oil port how much and how often if anyone can tell me THANKS
What about the rotor pin? Do u not need to use it?
Which distributor cap post do I run spark plug #1 ?
Which post on the Distributor cap does spark plug #1 go to ?. Hope you answer soon please.
Sir, they mailed me points which are different from the ones on my TO 30. Can you tell me the ID # for correct points and where to get hem. ?
sure enjoyed your video.
Great video, thanks and God Bless
Nice video on the touch control. I'm in the process of restoring my super a and was contemplating doing a total rebuild on the touch control unit. your simple and well guided video helped me make the decision to do it. I just found your channel and am watching the distributer video now. THANKS👍
Points are set at 20,000 that is what was recommended for a international 140 12 volt system. What do you recommend?
What does it mean when I can't get spark out the end of my plug wires. The main fault I can find is there is no flash when you torn the key.it will either have power on the feed wire going to the coil from distributor or not depending on whether or not the points are making contact or not.after you release the key to the on position.
Thank you for this video I have a 52 8N and I just took the carburetor off for the same reason. Thank you
I have to add fluid to the reservoir. It will leak dry setting over the winter. No external leaks that I can find. Where is the fluid going?
Check the engine oil and see if it is over full. If the hydraulic pump shaft seal is leaking it will put the hydraulic oil in the engine crankcase.
Great video. Thanks!
That video was very helpful I have a 140 and a 100 thanks
1950 WD
Do you have a video on running new wiring from switch to coil and distributor? I have a 1950 Ed that I need to rewire. Thank you.
Every video narrator should tell a joke.
Man, this just might be the most informative video I've come across on a GM 12 bolt rear-end. I wasn't certain the gouge marks on my carrier are from the pinion walking into it. I thought perhaps they were for balancing. I'm guessing for a rear-end from the 70s, that was common?
found this and was hoping you had the re installation video up. hope all is well
I’m struggling to understand why they would want higher (numerically lower) gears. I can’t imagine it’s for gas mileage or top speed if this is in a square body like many.
Either off road or racing!
I’m doing the opposite going from 3.08s to 373s I bought a set of used diffs and the rear one has new gears but the pinion is loose I think they didn’t drive it though i gotta rip it apart and see what they did wrong
I have a harry Ferguson t30 it's getting juice to the coil it's got juice to the point but no fire at the plugs
I have one I tried to rebuild but now I am not sure I have it back right. What can I do with it or who can take it apart and make sure it’s right
if anyone can tell me how to fix this issue my contact info is 530 953 9944 text or call.
I have a k20 1977 and the steering colon shaft is loose from someone beating on it to get the steering wheel off. how can I get it to tighten back up
Oh boy... 4320! That’s the Holy Grail of John Deere to me! I wish I would have bought one before the collectors started gobbling them up. How did this project go for you? Years ago we split a Super M with narrow front. We had a heavy transmission jack supporting the front of the transmission which allowed the rear to roll fore and aft nicely. The front we cribbed under the engine and then ran cables from the front mounting lugs up to the ceiling of the shop. It was very stable that way. The wide front of the 4320 looked like a nicer one to work with! Thanks for subbing to my channel👍🏼 Happy thanksgiving to ya, Tedd
It wasn't to bad that has been a while ago. Those stands I built work good for all type of splitting jobs. A wide front is a lot easier to split all you have to do is drive some wooden wedges in the front axle pivot to make it ridged and then just support it on the stand. I try not to work on a lot of John Deere stuff. I like IH and MF mostly. I have a 1066, 706, 806, super M, and a couple super As.
I need to to replace rearend pension yoke. Do I need to replace crush washer or can I as I’ve seen measure threads and put nut back where it was?
The text book correct answer is any time you remove the yoke you should install a new crush sleeve and reset the preload on the pinion bearings. This involves completely disassembling the rear end. However I have replaced lots of pinion seals without doing all of this. The used pinion bearings are going to be just a little lose anyway. Take the yoke off replace the seal when you put the yoke and nut back on locktite the nut and torque it back down. Don't crush the sleeve to much and over load the bearings.
I gave this a thumbs-up for the joke. Good thing he didn't try ten pennies.
Thanks for the comment . I have not posted anything on RUclips in probably 7 years but this video still gets comments occasionally. At the time I had the idea of becoming a RUclips creator but it just wasn't for me. If I had been in a position to have someone else doing the recording and producing of the videos I might have made it. It just took so much time away from doing repairs. Unfortunately it seems like RUclips"s hay day is over for the small time players. We are almost back to the same thing we had with cable tv nothing but commercials.
that"s funny, Thanks i needed a chuckle today
Thank you for the help. I am rebuilding my carb now on my 8N and this was great help.
Great video, sir can you show how to install the spring on choke flap tht hold quarter door closed, I don't see it in any ford books
when reinstalling the unit on the tractor what is the proceedure for bleeding the air out of the unit. followed the bleed procedure in the manual but it not moving. got mine all put back together and tested it , i'm not getting any movement out of the unit. watched the video several times and mad sure i put everthing back the was it suppose to be. the one thing i notice is that you have the two large pistons all the way to the bottom of the hole does this matter?
Donde puedo conseguir los engranes centrales de cambios en baja y reversa tractor jhon deere 4010?
I watched both of your videos on the touch control rebuild. They’re both very thorough. I’m likely going to be delving into rebuilding one of these in the near future and the videos certainly are helpful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time.
Hola, necesito desarmar una toma de fuerza de un John Deere 3530. Alguien tiene algun video o manual?
Thank god I have an international 574 that has been giving me hell. The fuel shut off solenoid was shot and somehow fuel is also not even getting to the float. I just ordered the parts. I hope I can get it working because it's $400 for a new one.
Nice job!
Hey wear u get ur oring kit and gasket set
Hope you get to install this distributor. Looking forward to the video. Your carburetor videos are the very best on RUclips.
Good morning, what is your charge for this repair? I have a 53 Super C and the hydraulic unit is leaking like crazy. Thanks
I get $450 for a complete rebuild including all parts need accept the filter screen. Most of the time the filter can be reused. The filter is washable but sometimes the spring in it is rusted out.
My farther has a Farmall 140. Do you have a video on how to remove the hydraulic control box or know where I might be able to see this done?
